is atlanta a good place to move to obtain a job in television production?

I am goin to school for a degree in mass communication ( radio & Television). what are the top cities to get a job in this field

I would think the top Nielsen markets like NY, Los Angeles, Chicago ….. Atlanta is probably better than some cities (like Tampa) but not as good as others. There are several talk shows and such originating from here, so you may have a shot. But from my experience when I was a NYC publicist, those jobs are hard to come by and connections can’t hurt.

With Atlanta being the home of Turner Broadcasting, (CNN, TBS, TNT, TCM, Cartoon Network, Peachtree TV and TruTV) there is a strong base to work from. FOX also does a lot of filming in the area. You’ve also got all of the majopr networks doing local broadcasting (CBS, NBC, ABC, FOXTV) as well as several large sport markets with the Hawks, Braves, Thrashers, Falcons, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, UGA Bulldogs)

Atlanta seems to have a lot going for it as well as being the largest city in the southeast I would think Atlanta is above the average when it comes to film and TV production.
