Artist Steve Childs has been painting, sketching and photographing dancers for more than twenty-five years. Now, as an independent filmmaker, he is directing a documentary film that has been a dream of his for many years.

This film, titled And We Will Dance, allows you to peek into the invisible world behind the curtain - the inspiring lives of a handful of talented dancers from the North Carolina School of the Arts from dorm life to dance studios, audition to final performance. Follow their collaboration in classrooms, dressing rooms, to the stage. Hear these extraordinary young athletes’ stories in their own voices, as they are consumed by the need to express themselves physically through dance.

This is the first, very early release of the films trailer. We began the film project in February 2008 and are currently in the post-production stages.

(Highlights only) This documentary paints a compelling portrait of Taurean Charles, a high school football player for Miami’s Northwestern Bulls. Located in Miami’s impoverished Liberty neighborhood, Northwestern high has a history as a breeding ground for college football and NFL players. Led to believe that football is his only ticket out, Charles focuses all his efforts on earning a place on a Division I collegiate team, letting his grades suffer in the process. But if Charles can’t raise his SAT score to meet the NCAA’s standards, he might never escape his inner city life. As Charles struggles to meet demands from his coaches, family, and society, he wonders who he can actually trust. The Final Project of 2008-2009 school year.

In case you can’t follow the plot, its a rubix cube that’s searching to be solved, he goes through many challenges like not fitting through doors, not being able to get up, losing his girlfriend, and getting in a fight. But in the end he’s wins his girlfriend back and is finally solved. The reason for making this video was to give hope to people who keep getting put down, just fight through it and in the end your life will get better. Never Give Up!
