Studio Production vs Audio Recording?

Is there a difference between studio production and audio/sound recording (college course wise)? And what exactly do each of these involve (making beats, recording, etc)? What do music producers do? And what do recording engineers do? Who does what? Please Help… I’m confused

not really sure but I think Audio Recording is used to record live concerts on tape (or cd perhaps these days) while studio production is "cleaned up", recorded in a noise-free environment and usually with computerised music these days, too…

I wish I could tell you more in dept but I haven’t been discovered yet *wink* (as if I’d WANT to live my life in the spotlight - I have enough to cope with as it is, though I wouldn’t mind if someone said they liked my songs).
