Is a movie studio or production company that is producing or financing a movie the head of the movie, what I?

mean is say for instance can the movie studio or production company have the last say over the producer(s) on many decisions that is to be made. Also does the movie studio or production oversee every aspect of the movie?

The main producer(s) of a movie often work for the movie studios. So the chairman of the studio DOES have any final say. This is true for big budget Hollywood movies. Lesser, Independent or ‘B’ movies can sometimes be produced by private investors, who in-turn become the producers and have the final say. They will then sell their movie to the bigger studios (this is what happens at Sundance Festivale every year) OR they will independently make a deal with a big distributor to release the movie at theatres, dvd, cable and pay-per-views. good question :-)
