If I set up my own production studio, would it be classified as a small business?

Are you doing it to make money? If so, then yes! It’s a small business!

   if you are talking about doing it at home and you WANT it to be a business, you will have to get ZONING approval - in most residential areas, you are not allowed to operate a business in your house where people will be coming and going all the time - neighbors WILL complain
