Why do delivery boys get pissed off when i don’t tip?

February 19th, 2010

I ordered a medium pizza for 12.50 including a delivery charge. I only have $20 for the whole weekend. I don’t feel like giving 3 dollars to a delivery guy. If you delivery boys cry about your job well ok get a damn job that pays you minimum wage. Or why don’t you get signs and horde around the pizza ceo’s demanding they give you more money for your service. I just think its ridiculous for someone to give me a pissed off look after they see the money they received. Also i know they don’t get payed well that is why if you hate your job you should get a new one maybe start up a organization to collect money for the pizza delivery men and women of America. Oh i forgot its a recession, its hard to find a job, well maybe you shouldn’t be expecting a tip then since most people are suffering from financial struggle.
OH damn everyone seems to be mad here, lol like i expected…. but i love how no one seems to mention the pizza company owners who pay THEIR delivery boys with 2.10 every hour. Thats ok though they can do that because they make such establishments. Let all the fault and blame be put on the Americans who tip these people for the wrong of the pizza owners put on them. boo hoo

It doesn’t matter WHY you didn’t tip, just that you didn’t. The tip is how they make their money since they aren’t being paid a full wage, and it is supposed to be a service fee. If you’d like to clarify it, you can call the company and ask if the delivery charge is going to the delivery person as a tip or not. If not, then you need to tip 15-20% of the original bill BEFORE the delivery fee and before taxes or discounts. So if the pizza is 10 dollars, then tip 1.50 - 2.00.

If you don’t want to tip, then don’t order from somewhere that delivers. It is just how it works, not fair, but that’s how it is.

Is there any public television programs that are not duplicated or bettered on cable tv?

February 17th, 2010

If not, what hope does the public medium have? Is it any more or less adaptable to new delivery methods than its commercial cousins?

What do you mean by public tv programs? Do you mean like PBS or just network tv like NBC, ABC, CBS and FOX? I much prefer network tv to cable in most cases. I don’t even have cable or satellite. As to PBS I love watching the old movies and the masterpiece theater shows, but because of the switch to Digital I no longer get PBS. Which is sad.

I want to work in post production. How?

February 15th, 2010

I moved to London to get a job in the post production.

Problem is I graduated in Media Production in 2001 and pissed the last 8 years away in stupid admin jobs.

I film and edit weddings still but don’t know how to get a foothold in a professional capacity.

Help?

I don’t know, I have a very similar degree to yours and found it as difficult as you. I know someone who didn’t get a degree but went to one of the tv companies (I’m pretty sure it was the BBC) and did their in-house editing course. A lot of companies will only take you on and train you themselves. We did a lot of camera work as well as editing and we were told that companies such as the BBC wouldn’t take us on because they would have to retain us. I eventually re-qualified as a nutritionist, but would have loved to use my film degree.
The best advice I can give you is to write spec letters to all the production companies you can. Offer to do unpaid work experience to get a foot in (and unfortunately a lot of these companies will expect unpaid work experience anyway). Also enquire into any in-house training they may have. And make copies of your editing and make an appointment and take it in to show them.
Good luck

666…warning to all christian.. the last days are here!!?

February 10th, 2010

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As we all can see the end time is already here. When you receive this message, please forward it to everyone you know; it is the most important message for everyone before the Rapture and those left behind. Please do print this message and share it with as many as you can. Anyone who calls themselves a Christian and has no desire to witness to souls, this is the saddest thing to our Lord because He died for our souls, PRAISE THE LORD.
Choo Thomas
MARK OF THE BEAST (666)
RFID
"He required everyone - great and small, rich and poor, slave and free - to be given a mark on the right hand or on the forehead. And no one could buy or sell anything without that mark, which was either the name of the beast or the number representing his name. Wisdom is needed to understanding this. Let the one who has understanding solve the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is 666" (Rev. 13:16-18 New Living Translation).
666 IS A SYSTEM OF THE ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT
At the present time, computer-assisted biometric identification systems are being developed rapidly and have been readily accepted into our society. Miniature computer chips, using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology, have already been embedded within electronic appliances, retail goods, livestock, and human beings. This is not tomorrow’s science fiction
- it is happening today.
In many parts of the world, Applied Digital Corporation’s human implanted RFID microchip (VeriChip) is used to help diagnose Alzheimer’s disease, mental illness, Diabetes, heart problems and it also helps to prevent kidnappings. In the near future, this type of biochip will be widely accepted and implanted for personal identification, protection, monitoring, tracking, commerce, and other uses not yet imagined.
Unfortunately, such biochips store personal identification and the information generated from its use will be stored and maintained in a computer database. Your body becomes a tagged asset that is monitored and whose behavior will be tracked. Implanting the microchip in the body alters a person’s physically, mentally and ultimately - spiritually. The problem that arises from the use of biochip in humans is more than an aesthetic, medical, political, or legal issue.
Satan works in the world and he shapes people and society to achieve his goals. Knowingly or not, anti-christ will force people to follow and obey an agenda that appears to be in the best interest of its people but, in following the pattern of human history and man’s rebellion to God, will bring about pain and suffering until Christ comes again.
"…he [satan's agent] deceived all the people who belong to this world. He ordered the people of the world to make a great statue of the first beast, who was fatally wounded and then came back to life. He was permitted to give life to this stature so that it could speak. Then the statue commanded that anyone refusing to worship it must die." (Rev 13vs14-15 New Living
Translation).
A time is coming when society and lives will be ruled by a self-imposed system where mankind is monitored, analyzed, measured, and evaluated by computers. In those times, anyone who refuses to accept this system will be tortured then killed.
FORMATION OF A UBIQUITOUS SOCIETY
We are moving towards a ubiquitous society where people from all walks of life can access anything, anywhere, and at anytime regardless of time and location. The implementations of RFID technology in retail stores is one example. It’s estimated that the majority of retail merchandise will use RFID technology within 1 or 2 years (as of 2005) and will replace bar codes, which have been used for the past 30 years.
What drives such development is the belief that we will live safer, easier, richer and more enjoyable lives by using technology to manage everyday aspects of daily life. In a society that craves automated financial management, instant communication and security, it’s not a far stretch for RFID enabled biochips to be implanted into the body, and eventually replacing currency that is easily stolen, lost, or hidden. In the near future:
1) All people will be required to have a biochip. All economic operations will use this chip thereby replacing today’s unit of monetary exchange.
2) There will be privacy invasion and freedom will cease to exist.
3) A charismatic leader, who is the Anti-Christ, will rule the whole world through a system that is interconnected and interdependent.
MARK OF THE BEAST IN THE HUMAN BODY, WE MUST NOT RECEIVE IT. (REV 14VS9,
14VS11, 16VS2)
1) Accepting this mark is the irreversible act of selling your soul to Satan. This sin is unforgivable and cannot be reversed by physically removing the mark (Rev. 14:9-11). Your soul belongs to God. Therefore if you receive this mark, you then will belong to Satan.
2) If you receive this mark, you willfully placing your faith in man and not in God.

Should dads be in the delivery room?

By Clare Murphy
Health reporter, BBC News

Dad and baby
Would it have been better if he wasn’t there?

It was once imparted to the father over the phone, yet now it’s men themselves who often tell their exhausted partner the sex of the child she has just delivered. But could men be more of a hindrance than a help in the delivery room?

French obstetrician Michel Odent says yes, and even blames fathers for an increasing rate of births by Caesarean section.

At a debate hosted this week by the Royal College of Midwives, Mr Odent will argue against what he dubs "the masculinisation of the birth environment".

The presence of an anxious male partner in the labour room makes the woman tense and slows her production of the hormone oxytocin, which aids the process of labour, so the French doctor contends.

This, he says, makes her much more likely to end up on the operating table having an emergency Caesarean section.

"Having been involved for more than 50 years in childbirths in homes and hospitals in France, England and Africa, the best environment I know for an easy birth is when there is nobody around the woman in labour apart from a silent, low-profile and experienced midwife," he says.

"Oxytocin is the love drug which helps the woman give birth and bond with her baby. But it is also a shy hormone and it does not come out when she is surrounded by people and technology. This is what we need to start understanding."

He will be debated by Duncan Fisher, a leading advocate for fathers, who, while pressing for more preparation for fathers, argues they are there because women want them to be - "and we should trust mothers’ instincts".

Here we come

Certainly men’s appearance on the labour ward does co-incide with a rising number of caesarean births - although ironically their arrival was in part a backlash against doctor-led, highly-medicalised care in favour of a more woman-centred approach.

In the 1960s only about a quarter of men in the UK attended the birth of an infant, today it is well over 90%.

There are many reasons why the number of emergency Caesarean sections has risen …none of which have anything to do with the presence of dads
Patrick O’Brien
Consultant obstetrician

It is seen as an important rite of passage for any involved father, as well as a marker of social progress - the less developed a country, the more likely childbirth is to be seen as a woman’s business best conducted behind closed doors.

"But I think the other issue is the lack of one-to-one care of women by midwives," says Winnie Rushby of Doula UK, an organisation which provides birthing support from experienced, but non-medically trained women. "Fathers have been called on to provide that help.

"Some of them are very attuned to the emotional and psychological needs of their partner. But if they are shocked by bodily fluids and very agitated by the pain they see her in, this could play on her mind and stop her psychologically entering the place she needs to be to deliver the baby - the birthing ‘zone’, if you like.

"We’ve gone from men not being there to virtually all men being there. We need to find a new medium, where there is no shame in discussing whether the father should be there or not. Women need to start asking if they really do want him there - and if so, is he prepared for what will go on."

Staying home

In fact, the greatest advocate of putting men in the mix was US doctor Robert Bradley, who in 1962 published Father’s Presence in Delivery Rooms. This was a review of 4,000 cases when husbands were present.

Some partners will not feel comfortable themselves in providing physical and emotional support during labour
Elizabeth Duff
National Childbirth Trust

He concluded, quite contrary to Dr Odent, that the husband’s presence as a so-called "birth coach" actually helped the woman to relax. "With husbands coaching, we have more than 90% totally unmedicated births. No other approach comes near to that figure," he wrote.

Iran only recently allowed fathers into the delivery room after the health ministry in Tehran asked doctors to reduce the number of Caesarean births.

At 70% it has been among the highest in the world, and has been explained largely by women’s fear of childbirth. Bringing in the men, it was hoped, would provide women with the reassurance they needed to deliver their baby without surgery.

Whether some men do in fact aid or

yes they should..

My computer won’t play any sound!?

February 7th, 2010

I have a Sony Vaio VGC-RA826G(UC) and im running windows 7. My sound was working fine, till about a month ago it suddenly went out. My computer says their is no sound problem and my sound botton on the right of the screen if active while playing any sound. I initially tried system restore, no luck. I then tried updating my sound driver, it was "already up to date". I tried uninstalling " Microsoft High Difinition Audio Device" and reinstalling, nothing. I then tried changing sound drivers. I downloaded and installed "Realtek High Difinition Audio Driver", still no luck. Im pretty mad by now so i tried checking out the obious, cable connection, playback devices, volume control… but nothing had any effect. So now im online looking for some leads, I ran into a website that suggested updating my bios? I went to sony’s support site and they have a XP bios update, tried installing it but it says it cant install becuase it decects im not running XP!
