Always emphasis the skills appropriate to the job. Your covering letter to whoever you decide to apply to should bring these to the fore and throw them at the prospective employer. You’ve done a lot that shows you have engaged with people, you’ve got experience in recruiting membership, training people and organisation. You need to show you are a team player as well as able to work on your own initiative. Don’t use too many abbreviations (NYS, SUNY, etc) unless you know your target will understand them. Where you say "Practiced public speaking skills often", leave out the "often", its too vague. Either rephrase or just leave off the ‘often’. "Developed public speaking skills" maybe.

But yes, I’d hire you on the basis of this resume. Although criteria may be different where you come from. I’m in the UK. It shows off your skills and looks as though you’ve crammed in a lot in a short space of time. Couple of points to note. What are your qualifications? Do you have High School exams? You’ll have to forgive me as I’m from the UK and not familiar with US educational qualifications - we have the GCSE’s and (for us older folks) the Ordinary and Advanced level exams. If you have equivalents, list them all as well as job experiences.

It looks good to me. Do you already have a professional resume prepared? If not, you might want to look online, or in your local area, for a professional resume writing service. I have used a company called Rescue My Resume in the past. Had good luck, but they are only one of many out there. I have found that a well written resume has a very positive affect on potential employers, and you would be surprised how many people don’t bother to have one prepared. Anway, it looks like you are on the right track best of luck to you. M:)

remove the word often here…….Practiced public speaking skills often.
Is it just me, or does this verbage lead to a thought of, person who will cause issues in the work place, or am I being too critical, can you reword this to sound like your not going to lead a labor strike? Mediation something or other, sounds more like what an HR person does to resolve things, using their termonology sounds more inline with their needs.

- Organized and carried out weekly group meetings
- Taught students how to effectively advocate for policy reform
- Met with NYS Legislators regarding SUNY budget cuts and tuition increases
- Recruited students and NYPIRG members for the Higher Education Project
- Arranged a Higher Education Forum open to all SUNY Albany students
- Organized press conferences, wrote Media Advisories and News Releases

.You sound organzied, hard working, Id hire you.
