The AK 47 is still …
The AK 47 is still in use by many countries. Its a lot of bang for the buck.
The Russians are using the AK 74 now. its essentially the same operating system, but a different round ( 7.62 x 45 ), instead of the traditional 7.62 x 39.
The M 16 is constantly being upgraded, but, there is talk of going to a gas piston system similar to the AK, the FN SCAR.

No it hasn’t, it’s still being used in the Russian army today and by ex-soviet countries.

NEVER seen a AK jam …
NEVER seen a AK jam. i have both weapons. and i feel the ak makes up for lost accuracy.iam not going to be taking pop-shots 500yds. away. i have that covered. but what i will do is kick down the door and open up with the ak. drive off?the ak has the better chance of stopping a car. ar is no dout a great gun. no one has the right to be wrong in their own opinion! chill-out bro.! ok.

  9. 81solidsnake Says:

    in the begining the …
in the begining the AR was changed from stoners idea the powder was and cleaning kits were not issued i own both rifles and love them the same both have flaws but dont give me this unreliable bullshit it’s the operaters knowlage in his weapon ak’s jam up all auto loading weapons can jam it’s the operater’s job to know how to clear a jam and get back on target!

  10. Kommarikakka Says:

    Horsecrap. It’s …
Horsecrap. It’s obvious that you have not shot with AK. It’s not like AK was designed first as a rifle like AR-series, but my experiences with RK-62 and MPiKMS are that they are accurate to the 300 meters. MPiKMS less so, thanks to folding stock.

AK 47 got replaced already. M16 is already still in use but needs to go badly

  13. brookiecookieforlife Says:

    i like the m16 …
i like the m16 better then the ak47

  14. speedysam444 Says:

    The M16A1 was …
The M16A1 was rather fragile and over complicated, the AK was the complete opposite. The problem with the AK was that it was very inaccurate. This was not a problem with untrained gurillas, but in a proper army, its accuracy that counts.

  15. IndIka024 Says:

    AK47 fires 600RPM, …
AK47 fires 600RPM, the M4 fires 900RPM. On youtube search for automatic AK47 firing videos, find a guy firing a 100 round magazine, and you tell me how long it takes him to drop 100 rounds through the AK.. its not a minute.

  16. johncub7172 Says:

    yea it was our …
yea it was our soilders that abused this ar15? bullshit…………. the en thing dirtys up, the star bolt design is the joke of the american military! a small twig of a branch was enuff to miss your target. i say the ak is muck better and will take all the abuse you can give it , as not so said here by this narator of the ar hands down! crawl through some sand war with your gun ar and you will see the diff. between the ar and ak.!

  17. esh325 Says:

    Then another …
Then another attempt at an intermediate catridge was the .30 carbine which was used in the M1 carbine but it proved to be too underpowered and only good for short distances. Then the Germans came up with the 7.92×33 kurtz and came up with first true ault rifle, the STG44. So yes we would have had ault rifles a long time ago if the circumstances would have been better.

  18. esh325 Says:

    They make something …
They make something similar to an ault rifle back in 1915, The Fedorov Avtomat was sort of like an ault rifle. The reason. But the wars the Russian’s had stopped it’s production and it was basicly forgotten about. Then in 1923 a cartridge called the .276 Pedersen was designed but the US army didn’t want to adopt because they millions of stock piles of 30/06 ammo from WW1 and also it was the height of the great depression.

  19. esh325 Says:

    The higher the rate …
The higher the rate of fire is on a gun the more recoil it has. The gun also heats up faster and has more wear on the internal parts.

  20. esh325 Says:

    Just because one …
Just because one weapon spits out bullets faster then another dosen’t mean it’s better. When the Americans were developing the M60, they looked at many things from the MG42 but they did not copy it’s rate of fire, rather they slowed it down.

  21. Zudala Says:

    in foc automat …

  22. mastoner20 Says:

    Okay, I’ll give you …
Okay, I’ll give you that. You’re looking the cyclic rate of fire, which is how fast the weapon’s mechanism will work and fire the shells. The military, and this documentary, use sustained rate of fire, which is how fast it can fire in a minute reliably without failure (jamming, overheating, et cetera)

  23. mastoner20 Says:

    Yep. The main …
Yep. The main reason as to why the AK is so well known, for all series, is the fact it’s so cheap and easy to use. Pretty much the only reason. But I agree, the Sturmgewehr was a wonderful invention to save lives in war… well… by taking them, but yeah…. :P

  24. mastoner20 Says:

    Okay, mr. …
Okay, mr. Intelligence. How fast does it fire, and why is this to low for the Ak? The AK fires 1/3 the speed of an M4 ault rifle and M16 ault Rifle, which again, fires at 300 rounds per minute.

  25. IndIka024 Says:

    also I forgot to …
also I forgot to mention the M4 carbine fires 700-950 rounds a minute.
