Becoming a Television production teacher?

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

I had a broadcasting certificate and much experience in ther area. I am interested in becoming a teacher in television and or radio for high school aged students. Would I have to get a bachelors degree in teaching and or broadcasting or can I just get a teaching certificate to go along with my broadcasting certificate.

your Ba can be in any subject - You earn your credential after your BA.

Please look into this in your state - here are some problems I forsee:

1. the actual credential: my state calls it industrial and technology education. (the classic shop teacher) its not really updated for what you want to do.

2. finding a job. I know of only one school that offers such a class. (and Im in Los Angeles - the home of the movie industry) You would have to wait until that teacher retires to teach it - thats 20 years from now.

What sitcom was this commercial advertising?

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

At some point in the last 4-5 years, there was an ad on American television for a sitcom.
It featured an adult man singing a children’s song (like, baa baa black sheep, or similar) while folding laundry.
Then, a kid walks through the back of the room, singing Roxanne by the Police.
I think it was on ABC, CBS, NBC, or the WB.
1: What sitcom was the ad for?
2: Is the ad anywhere online, like YouTube?

Never heard of it, sorry

What are some good Army documentary / films (preferably canadian, but not required)?

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Hello Im planning on joining the army in 2 months and right now I just had surgery so Im really bored, I thought I could rent a couple movies about the army to get me really pumped up / informed.

Im actually looking for something more along the lines of recent and more realistic movies - Stay away from Fiction as much as possible.

I’ve already watched "The War Tapes" and I really enjoyed it, although it’s a documentary on the american troops in Iraq.

Anything simular to this regarding the Canadian troops, Basic Training, troops in Afganastan, etc…?

Get a hold of documentaries about current events. If you are going to fight a war, it is better to know what is going on. Study up on religions, especially Islam. Research ethnic wars-genocide did not end with Hitler.

Also check the public library for documentaries on famous generals of the past century or so.

Good luck on your tour of duty. Stay sharp, focused and ready.

Ted sadly wasn’t able to make it for this video blog shoot. But I’m sure his vocals and amazing falsetto skills would’ve taken these songs to the next level.
